Lifetime Achievement Award 2007

It is my pleasure to once again present a Canadian Grand Masters Lifetime Achievement Award.

The lifetime achievement award is given to a person who over the years has dedicated their time, knowledge and skills to old time fiddling and who themselves have made an individual effort to keep the fiddling tradition alive in Canada .

This year, the recipient for this award, is someone, very well known not only throughout Canada but in the US as well. Not only is he a Master Fiddler, he is a judge of many fiddling contests which take place across North America . He is a composer of some of the best fiddle tunes we hear today. He is a performer having done many stage concerts, radio and television shows.

He is a teacher and educator.

He is co-founder and director of the Maritime Fiddlers Association. He is Director of the National Old Time Fiddlers Association USA.

The recipient this year is IVAN HICKS.

It is my pleasure to call upon Ivan to receive this award. IVAN - on behalf of the CGM executive it is our honor to award you with the CGM 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award.
